Rud Thygesen & Johnny Sorensen

1966 - Graduated from the School of Arts, Crafts and Design, School of Furniture Design.

1998 - Awarded lifelong Artist's Grant by the Danish Arts Foundation. Johnny Sørensen Completed the cabinet-maker's apprenticeship with silver medal at Elsinore Shipyard.

1966 - Graduated from the School of Arts, Crafts and Design, School of Furniture Design.

1994 - Own design studio for both Rud Thygesen and Johnny Sorensen.

1966 - Rud Thygesen and Johnny Sørensen establish design studio together. Awarded 1st prize at the Anniversary Exhibition of the Copenhagen Cabinet Maker's Guild.

1968 - Awarded 1st prize in the Copenhagen Cabinet Maker's Guild's Design Competition for the Royal Furniture. Awarded Danmarks Nationalbank's Anniversary Scholarship.

1969 - Awarded Danmarks Nationalbank's Anniversary Scholarship.

1971 - Awarded the Honorary Prize of the Association of Danish Furniture Manufacturers.

1975 - Awarded Danmarks Nationalbank's Anniversary Scholarship.

1976 - Awarded scholarship by the Alex Foss Industrial Foundation.

1978 - Awarded the Furniture Prize. Awarded the Institute of Business Designers Award, USA 

1989 - Awarded the G Prize, Japan

1992 - Awarded the Brown Mathsson Prize, Sweden 

1993 - Awarded the Design Prize, Switzerland 

1994 - Awarded the MMI Prize 

1996 - The Award for Good Design, Hanover, Germany Nominated for the EU's European Design Prize
